Takasagoya Ryokan ligger i Zao Onsen, 2 minuters promenad från Zao Hotsprings skidort, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. The room size, staff service and food was spectacular. It was as competitive as the service I experienced in Kamikochi.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations. Everyone was so helpful and polite. The room and private onsen was amazing. It was a great way to relax.

Featuring free property-wide WiFi, a spa centre and a seasonal outdoor pool, Matsushima Ichinobo offers accommodation in Matsushima. The room (I had the basic level option) was gigantic for Japan, with a huge picture window and a view to die for. To say I was blown away upon arrival would be an understatement. The hotel is spacious and uncrowded. I suspect it caters almost exclusively to the Japanese market so some instructions were on rather informal notes, or simply only in Japanese. The rate is breakfast and dinner included but also includes unlimited alcohol from 7pm and coffee/tea/refreshments all day with an icecream bar in the late morning and afternoon. The silence and sleep quality was superb as was the bathroom with shower.

Tagoto features a hot public bath, Japanese-style and Western rooms and Japanese cuisine, a 5-minute drive from Aizu Wakamatsu Station. Wonderful hotel! All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The twin beds are firm and the bedding was nice and warm for winter. The bathroom in the room is compact and functional, and there was the option of the private bath downstairs. The food was outstanding- the taste and presentation was incredible! Be prepared for a full stomach as everything was delicious! The breakfast rice bowl (plus the other dishes) was the best way to start the day, and coming back in the evenings for a home cooked meal was very relaxing and special. I hope to come back one day.

Tamonkan ligger i en historisk byggnad i japansk stil, omgivet av heliga berg och orörd natur. Gratis te och snacks serveras på hotellet. Dewa Shrine ligger 8 minuters promenad bort. We loved the beautiful Ryokan, the marvelous Food for breakfast and dinner and the friendly hosts. Thanks for a wonderful stay. It was my second time at Dewa San San and I can highly recommend Tamonkan.

Miyamaso Takamiya ligger knappt 10 minuters promenad från linbanan Zao Sky och har 9 naturliga varma källor. Hotellets trästruktur erbjuder boende i traditionell japansk stil. Excellent food, 4 onsen on property. Spacious rooms.

Located a 7-minute walk from Gosho Lake, Shikitei Morioka TsunagiOnsen offers free WiFi and indoor/outdoor hot spring baths. JR Morioka Train Station is a 25-minute drive from the property. The food there was amazing! Multi course dinner was superb! Breakfast was delicious! The staff was exceptional. Highly recommended!

Komatsukan Kofu-tei ligger precis framför Matsushima-bukten och erbjuder boende med gratis fast internet. The staff were very nice and friendly. Also, the view from the room was gorgeous, since it's very near in Fukuura bridge, it can be seen from window. And the breakfast was delightful. A great experience and taste of a formal Japanese breakfast.

Katakurinohana has lake views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Senboku, 15 km from Nyuto Hot Spring. It is set 49 km from Morioka Station and features free shuttle service.

Yasuragino Yado -Iyashino Yu- ligger i Kitakami, 42 km från Chūson-ji-templet, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. I didn't take the breakfast, so I can't comment on it. Location was good for me since I wanted to walk everyday.
